Merits & Evaluations

Merits

Merit increases are granted to employees who are not at the top of their established pay range and who receive a standard or above performance rating on their evaluation. Employees who receive a rating of Below Expectations will not be eligible for a Merit increase.

Most new hires will receive a probationary Performance Review at six months (nine months in some instances), and will receive a Salary Review with possible Merit increase at twelve months. Thereafter, employees will receive a Performance and Salary Review each year on their review date.

Pay Cards

Larimer County offers the option of signing up for a Pay Card as an alternative to using a traditional bank account. We currently use Wisely Cash Cards by ADP.

How They Work

On payday, the money that would normally be included in your paycheck is automatically loaded onto the pay card.  This card can then be used like a debit card to make purchases, pay for bills and expenses or to withdraw money from an ATM.

How to Sign Up

Compensation

Larimer County’s compensation philosophy is to compensate employees based on the nature and level of work performed and how well the employee accomplishes the work.  Annual pay plans and compensation recommendations are developed by compensation specialists in Human Resources and approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
