Larimer County Department of Health and Environment (LCDHE) now has five deaths associated with COVID-19. Two of these deaths are epidemiologically linked cases, which means there was a possible connection to a COVID-19 case but testing was never completed. The other three deaths are confirmed COVID-19 patients.  All five individuals were over the age of sixty.

Larimer County residents came together this week to support their healthcare workers and first responders. 

On March 25, 2020, various sites throughout the county collected personal protective equipment (PPE) this past Wednesday to be donated to local medical offices, Long Term Care facilities, fire departments, ems providers, and residential facilities.

Larimer County Department of Health and Environment and the Town of Estes Park have issued public health orders limiting visitors to Estes Park by closing short-term accommodations within the Estes Valley to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The orders were issued March 21 and take effect March 23 at 12 p.m. With the same goal in mind, many accommodations throughout the Estes Valley have already voluntarily closed, a commendable step.

At about 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, an area resident located the two teens sheltering in an outbuilding and contacted the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. The juveniles were taken into protective custody, transported to an area hospital for routine evaluation, and returned to the custody of their parents. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for their help in bringing these juveniles home safely. No further information will be released.
