Wage and Tax Statement (W2)

Every employer engaged in a trade or business who pays remuneration, including non-cash payments of $600 or more for the year for services performed by an employee must file a Form W-2 for each employee from whom:

  • Income, Social Security, or Medicare tax was withheld.
  • Income tax would have been withheld if the employee had claimed no more than one withholding allowance or had not claimed exemption from withholding on Form W-4, Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate.

Workweek & Overtime

The standard County work week is 12:00 am Thursday through 11:59 pm Wednesday. All County Departments and Offices must use the standard work week for all employees unless specifically exempted by the Board of County Commissioners. Currently the only exception is for those employees who are covered by 28 day work cycles.

Connectivity Allowances

The Connectivity Allowance, formerly known as the Wireless Device Allowance, provides eligible employees with a wireless device allowance and an internet allowance.  Employees required to utilize a County wireless device for their job responsibilities, or employees identified as mandatory remote workers can be eligible for an allowance.

A wireless device refers to cell phones, multi-use devices (iPhones, Androids, tablets, etc) and similar telecommunication devices that are used to make or receive wireless phone calls and transmit data on the public cell phone networks.
