The Larimer County Engineering Department is updating the county’s Stormwater Design Standards. The current standards were adopted in 2005 and have not been updated since that time. The standards will be updated to meet industry standards in accordance with the current volumes of the Mile High Flood District Manual.

The standards address the design of stormwater facilities including culverts, storm sewers, open channels, bridges, and detention ponds, and provide information regarding the design submittals required for permitting and construction.

Emergency Flood Warning System (EFWS)

General Information

Larimer County operates an Early Flood Warning System (EFWS) including multiple real-time rain gages, stage gages, and other infrastructure. Data from these sites can be viewed via the web links below. Larimer County, in conjunction with its other municipal partners including Fort Collins, Loveland, Weld County and others share this data in a regional collaborative effort. This information is transmitted to the National Weather Service and other emergency services personnel to assist in the important decision making process during a flooding event.
