Community Development Drop Off/Pick Up from March 27 until further notice

As the situation changes due to the COVID-19 emergency, the State moved from a "Stay at Home" order to a "Safer at Home".  The Public Health Department has been working with others in the County and many partners from other organizations on defining regulations and guidelines for residents, businesses and local governments. There will be no change in our current operations on Monday, April 27. Our offices will remain closed to the public.  As additional information is developed, and incremental decisions are made, additional announcements will occur regarding changes to operational practices.

Staff is highly encouraging all documents for pick up or submittals to be done via the mail or electronically.  If this is not an option, please make an appointment to drop off or pick up a Community Development file. Please call 498-7683 to schedule an appointment.

We have developed guidelines for temporary outdoor expansion of businesses under state and county public health guidelines. Please read those guidelines here.

Planner on Call, Applications and Submittals

Customers may contact a Planner by sending an e-mail to: POC@larimer.org, by calling (970) 498-7679 or sending mail to P.O. Box 1190, Fort Collins, CO 80522.  Staff will be available to respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner and minimize impacts to your projects and concerns.  Customers may continue to use our on-line portal at onlineportal.larimer.org. Fees may be paid over the phone via credit card or mailed to the address above. Review of planning cases, applications and Short-term rental cases will continue, with much of our staff either working remotely or practicing social distancing in the office.  Submittals may be made online to the Citizen Resources Team at citizenresources@larimer.org (please include your submittal checklist and pre-application meeting form).

Site Visits

For now, we will no longer conduct site visits unless necessary. If a site visit is determined to be necessary, we will contact the property owner at least 72 hours in advance to secure permission.

We are quickly exploring and soon be providing alternative options for service to minimize inconvenience to our customers, including live video streaming applications, additional phone conferences, and remote participation in public hearings.

Life safety inspections for Short-term rental applications, as well as other required entitlement inspections are suspended, and we are working with the Code Compliance and Building Divisions to build and support workarounds that may include photo/video inspections, owner affidavits, and other methods which will mitigate the impact to your case from these public safety-oriented measures.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in teaming with us to help mitigate this global issue.
