Welcome to training opportunities available through Larimer County for some of our external partners. On this page you'll find a number of training classes available to you as an external partner. We have reserved 5 spots in each class listed below for external participants, and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are unsure of whether your organization is approved as an external partner and would like to participate in one of these classes, please contact Nicole Berg, Inclusion Administrator, at bergnd@co.larimer.co.us to be considered for participation in this program.

Once you find a training class that you want to enroll in, please reach out to Valerie Douglas at douglavh@co.larimer.co.us to register. Valerie will direct how to make your payment and complete your registration process. Any external participant who cancels their enrollment for a class within 2 weeks of the class date will need to send another person from their organization in their place. If no one fills the spot, the organization will not be refunded the registration cost, regardless of the reason for cancelling.

We're excited to have you join us!

This program is designed for leaders who want to improve their coaching skills.  A strong leader-as-coach asks questions instead of providing answers, supports development instead of dictating what has to be done, and teaches rather than puts out fires.  This program will give leaders the practical tools to empower and develop their teams to reach their full potential.

NOTE: There will be two hours of Pre-Program reading and activities.

Diverse perspectives are both valid and valuable in the workplace.  There is great value in knowing how to integrate perspectives and preferences that are different from your own.  The ability to embrace differences can eliminate the rise of conflicts, while harnessing the creative potential within teams.  We will explore a tool that helps us integrate differences with ease and creativity. By learning how to capture, clarify, and organize incoming requests, people are more likely to make strategic decisions about where to invest their time and energy, focus on the right priorities, and prevent critical projects from slipping. When used consistently and collectively, Getting Things Done® skills also give teams a “way of working” for improved results.

This practical, not depressing (promise!), program offers tips and techniques to recognize the symptoms of compassion fatigue, burnout, and stress and what can be done to help resolve them.

The presentation will introduce participants to what realistic, tangible self-care looks like and offers different ways to think about being more resilient, even in demanding situations.

Learn how to address conflicts quickly and effectively while preserving relationships, using a reliable process.

  • Become aware of your unique conflict style
  • Learn to distinguish facts from stories
  • Practice a 5-Step process to resolve conflict

NOTE: There will be two hours of Pre-Program reading and activities.

The 6 types of Working Genius is a new model that helps people discover their natural gifts and thrive in their work and life.

During this interactive session, participants will learn the 6 Types of Working Genius – Wonder, Discernment, Enablement, Invention, Galvanizing,  and Tenacity – and discover their top 2 geniuses, 2 working frustrations, and 2 working competencies.

Developing cultural competence includes examining our own biases and developing the willingness to learn and be educated from a different point of view.

In this diversity training program, participants will cultivate their ability to understand, communicate with, and interact with people across cultures. Being culturally competent can help improve outcomes in relationships both personally and professionally.

In our increasingly competitive world, we all need to be more productive than ever. As a result, we may face conflicting tasks, deadlines, and expectations, making it difficult to identify what is most important. This course will enable participants to properly prioritize their obligations, allowing them to improve performance and productivity.

* Advanced Coaching Skills is the second part of a 2-part series. Interested parties must participate in Foundations in Coaching Skills before enrolling in this class.
