Physical Therapy can be considered a form of preventive care, as addressing pains and strains early can potentially save you bigger issues down the road. It can also help prevent you from re-injuring yourself or requiring additional surgery.

In an effort to help encourage health plan covered members to utilize physical therapy services, we have entered into a partnership with Colorado In Motion to offer eight (8) free physical therapy sessions per covered member per year for those on the Choice and Standard PPO Plans.

While we are not legally allowed to offer physical therapy sessions for free for those on the High Deductible Health Plan, you will still pay a lower total cost for your visits with Colorado In Motion compared to other providers, and you have the option to use your Health Savings Account contribution from the County to cover a portion or all of the cost.

To schedule an appointment with Colorado In Motion, please visit their website at coloradoinmotion.com

As a self-funded medical plan, we continue to find ways to be innovative with our plans and what we offer to encourage the use of high-quality healthcare providers who charge a fair rate for their services.

Effective January 1, 2021, we have started a pilot program in conjunction with Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies, Healthcare Blue Book and Meritain for Knee Arthroscopies. Please review this flyer for more information.

For those enrolled in the Choice and Standard PPO Plans, there is a $1,000 annual benefit per each health plan covered member per year for those who would like to receive massage therapy and/or acupuncture therapy services, with a $25 copay per visit.

While we are not legally allowed to offer these sessions for a copay for those on the High Deductible Health Plan, you do have the option to use your Health Savings Account contribution from the County to cover a portion or all of the cost.

This is an “open-network” benefit, which means there isn’t a requirement to see someone in-network (because frankly most massage therapists and acupuncturists do not have the staffing or time to bill insurance). That means you will more than likely need to pay the full cost for the appointment up front, and then submit this to Meritain through the secure online member portal for reimbursement. Here is a link with instructions on how to submit a claim.

The purpose of the Lifestyle Education Reimbursement Benefit is to encourage participation by the Medical Plan Members in educational classes and educational programs that provide members with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills, with the intention of improving or maintaining personal health and well-being. There are several approved programs that qualify that support physical health, such as:

  • CSU Youth Sport Camp
  • Burn Boot Camp
  • Core Motion Fitness Boot Camp
  • Various Fitness and Nutrition Training Programs

Employees are welcome to take advantage of the discounted gym memberships listed here.
