Every year at tax time our office receives many inquiries regarding Specific Ownership Tax. This year we're hoping to save you some time!

The images below will help you locate where the Specific Ownership Tax is shown on your Colorado registration. If you have questions regarding tax deductions on your tax return, please consult a tax professional. If you require a duplicate copy of your registration, please contact the Vehicle Licensing office. 

Registration Versions

There are currently two versions of the Colorado registration document. The first version is County issued, either in our office or renewed online or through the mail. The second version is issued by a self-service kiosk. Both examples are shown below.

County Issued Registration

The document shown below is an example of the registration that is issued when you renew in our office, online or through the mail. The Specific Ownership Tax is shown on the back side of this document, outlined in red.
