Our office responded to an unattended death at 1721 Choice Center Drive, Fort Collins, on July 22, 2018.

The decedent has been identified at Samnang O'Brien, Age 20 of Fort Collins.

James A Wilkerson IV MD, Larimer County Coroner performed an autopsy and determined that the Manner of Death was Suicide and Cause of Death was Blunt Force Injuries to Head and Neck.

On 07/05/18 the Larimer County Medical Examiner's Office was notified of the death of Cross J. GOODWIN, age 16, a Fort Collins resident. 

A full forensic autopsy was performed on 07/07/18 by Larimer County Coroner, J. A. Wilkerson IV, MD. 

The Cause of Death was a Gunshot Wound of the Head.

The Manner of Death was determined to be Homicide.

Investigation is ongoing by Fort Collins Police Services and no further information will be released by the Larimer County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment has confirmed the first human case of tularemia in a county resident in 2018. This patient developed swollen lymph nodes, and may have been exposed while gardening at home. Soil can be contaminated by tularemia-causing bacteria from the droppings or urine of sick animals, most often rabbits.
