Officer Involved Shooting – November 16, 2023

On November 17, 2023, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to the Medical Center of the Rockies Emergency Department to investigate the death of a 28-year-old male. The decedent was transported after he was involved in an officer involved shooting with Fort Collins Police Services which occurred in the late evening hours of November 16, 2023, at the location of the 100 block of West Laurel Street in Fort Collins, CO. 

The decedent is identified as William L. HAYES of Fort Collins, Colorado. 

A full forensic autopsy was performed on November 17, 2023, at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center by Dr. J. White, D.O.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

The CIRT (Critical Incident Response Team) was activated, and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigating agency for this case.

El 17 de Noviembre de 2023, la Oficina Forense del Condado de Larimer acudió al Centro Médico del Departamento de Emergencias de las Montañas Rocosas para investigar la muerte de un hombre de 28 años. El difunto fue transportado después de estar involucrado en un tiroteo con un oficial de los servicios de policía de Fort Collins que ocurrió en las últimas horas de la tarde del 16 de Noviembre de 2023, en la ubicación de la cuadra 100 de West Laurel Street en Fort Collins, CO.

El difunto es identificado como William HAYES de Fort Collins, Colorado. 

El 17 de Noviembre de 2023 se realizó una autopsia forense completa en el Centro de Ciencias Forenses del Condado de Larimer por el Dr. J. White, D.O.

Manera de Muerte: Homicidio

Causa de la Muerte: Múltiples Heridas de Bala

Se activó el Equipo de respuesta a incidentes críticos y la Oficina del Alguacil del condado de Larimer es la agencia investigadora principal de este caso.
