Assessor: Disregard notices

Property owners in Larimer County are again finding phony notifications hitting mailboxes asking they get a copy of their Recorded Deed Notices from a California-based firm, Property Profile, Inc.

The mailer is a scam and Larimer County property owners are asked to contact local law enforcement and disregard the notice.

The notices ask property owners to get a copy of their “Recorded Deed Notices” or “Other Record of Title” for $86 from the firm or states they owe $86 for a Property Assessment Profile.

Larimer County Assessor Bob Overbeck said the Assessor’s Office never charges for a property assessment profile or to protest a property assessment. Citizens may check their property records free of charge online, by phone or in-person at the Larimer County Assessor’s Office.
