On May 7, 2019, deputies were transporting inmate Christopher R. Gleckler (05/18/1985) from the Larimer County Jail to the Larimer County Justice Center for a court appearance.  During transport, Gleckler damaged a seatbelt buckle in the LCSO high risk transport vehicle and removed a spring.  He tried to use the spring to remove his handcuffs, but deputies saw what he was doing and stopped him.

After safely arriving at the Justice Center, deputies searched Gleckler and found he still had the spring in his possession.  Deputies are working with the district attorney’s office and seeking additional charges of Attempt to Escape (CRS 18-08-208.1) and 2nd Degree Possession of Contraband (CRS 18-08-204.2).

Gleckler was booked into the Larimer County Jail on December 22, 2018 and is being held on 1st Degree Assault Extreme Indifference, 1st Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon, 2nd Degree Assault, Parole Revocation, and three counts of 3rd Degree Assault.  A booking photo is attached.

Jail staff are working directly with the vehicle manufacturer on a solution for a more secure seatbelt buckle.  In the meantime, deputies will continue inspecting all seatbelts prior to securing inmates in transport vehicles.
