Unemployment Insurance Information: Executive Order and Work-search Requirements

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, President Trump signed an executive order aimed at extending the $600 per week of federal unemployment benefits known as the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC).  Under the executive order, the Federal government would provide $300 and the states would be required to provide $100 for a total of $400 per week instead of $600.

However, at this time, we are awaiting guidance from the Unemployment Insurance Benefits Office and we do not have any additional information implementing this executive order.

The Unemployment Insurance (UI) system is administered by the State of Colorado not Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development and is primarily an online system.  To reach the State of Colorado Unemployment customer service call 1.800.388.5515.

New work-search requirements are in place. You are now required to complete work-search activities every week to be paid benefits unless you are job attached.  Have questions on what qualifies as a work-search activity?  Visit the Information on Unemployment Insurance work search requirements page.
