Patrol units responded to reports of an explosion in the 500 Block of N. Bryan Avenue in unincorporated Larimer County at approximately 2:45 am. Two males and one female were found outside the structure and had suffered injuries resulting from the explosion and follow-on structure fire at an apartment complex.
The Poudre Fire Authority responded to unit #505 and successfully put out the fire. All residents in the affected area have been accounted for.
Those injured were transported to local area hospitals. Their identities are being withheld until notifications can be made to family members.
Several residents in the main building were transported to other shelters or friend's houses as the apartments affected cannot be entered due to safety concerns.
Larimer County Sheriff's Office investigators in conjunction with personnel from the Poudre Fire Authority are continuing their investigation to determine the cause and origin of the explosion.
While the case remains under investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Larimer County Sheriff’s Office at 970-416-1985 or Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868 where you will remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward.
