Larimer County Death Investigation

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found in North Fort Collins on Wednesday. 

On April 10, 2024 around 12:20 p.m., LCSO received a report of a deceased person in a ditch at Highway 287 and Taft Hill Road. A worker was performing maintenance on a culvert when he found the man. Investigators processed the scene, and the man was transported to the Larimer County Coroner’s office. 

Based on evidence collected at the scene, investigators determined a possible name and a family contact for the man. While official forensic confirmation is still pending, the family has been notified. The Coroner's Office will release his identity at a later time, as well as the cause and manner of death, pending toxicology results. 

The preliminary investigation and autopsy did not reveal any obvious indications of foul play; however, investigators are still working to determine what happened to the man.
