Beginning March 1, 2024, Options for Long Term Care services will no longer be provided by the Larimer County Department of Human Services. Foothills Gateway will provide these case management services to the community. Those directly impacted by this transition were notified earlier in the year. The Larimer County Department of Human Services has implemented an immediate enrollment freeze for its Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP or CCAP). Prospective applicants are directed to continue submitting applications through the Colorado Peak website. The department will still accept and screen applications, but a full eligibility review will be postponed until the freeze is lifted.

Two Larimer County residents were recognized on May 11 at the Older Americans Month award ceremony for their volunteerism, positive attitude, and impact for older adults.

The two awards, Outstanding Senior Volunteer and Outstanding Family Caregiver, were awarded by the Larimer County Office on Aging. The annual awards are a way to show appreciation for older adults and caregivers in our community as part of Older Americans Month, which is celebrated each year in May.

On April 26, the Office on Aging Advisory Council hosted the 2023 Resource Connections for Seniors & Caregivers forum in Loveland. Dozens of attendees were welcomed by County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally and Loveland Mayor Jacki Marsh. Panelists representing the Loveland Housing Authority, Housing Catalyst, Neighbor to Neighbor, and Volunteers of America addressed the featured issue of housing, focusing on demystifying topics like the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program and housing vouchers.
