Larimer County Treasurer Irene Josey reminds taxpayers that Monday, March 1, 2021 is the deadline for paying the first half of your property taxes. The deadline is for taxpayers who pay their taxes in two equal installments; the second half is due June 15th.

If you sign up before Jan. 5, 2021, you’ll receive your most current statement via paperless delivery.

Larimer County Treasurer & Public Trustee Irene Josey reminds the public that the Larimer County Annual Tax Lien Sale will be held online this year with RealAuction.  A tax lien will be offered on any property with a tax balance not paid by Nov. 17.

The Colorado Legislature passed a bill that granted County Treasurers the authority to waive delinquent interest from June 15, 2020, through Sept. 30, 2020, for 2019 taxes payable in 2020. Taxpayers may submit payment until Sept. 30, 2020, without penalty or delinquent interest. Beginning Oct. 1, 2020, interest will accrue at the statute-mandated 1% per month and be subject to advertising and distraint fees as scheduled.

Delinquent property tax statements for the property tax year 2019 payable in 2020 will hit mail boxes this week. Taxpayers that submitted payment after July 27, 2020 might still receive a delinquent statement in the mail due to the printing and mailing process.

Governor Jared Polis signed an Executive Order on April 6, 2020, granting County Treasurers the authority to waive delinquent interest through April 30, 2020, as well as collect multiple payments from taxpayers to equal the amount due by the statutory deadlines.

Governor Jared Polis on March 20, 2020 signed an Executive Order granting County Treasurers the authority to waive delinquent interest on first half property tax payments received after the due date of March 2.  This Executive Order will remain in effect for 30 days until April 20, 2020.
