A new nine-member advisory board was established by the Board of Larimer County Commissioners at their regular Administrative Matters meeting.

The commissioners voted 3-0 to pass a resolution establishing an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion advisory board to evaluate Larimer County programs, policies, and initiatives and provide feedback and recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners

The advisory board grew out of Larimer Recovery Collaborative discussions over the last year related to COVID-19. A subgroup of volunteers formed to ensure there was a focus on community recovery and resiliency through and equity and diversity lens.

“I am grateful for the people who will be serving on this board. We want broad representation, to look like the community and I think this is a good start and I am really happy about it,” said Larimer County Commissioner Kristin Stephens.

The board will work to ensure access to County services and initiatives and can be experienced by all community members without regard to personal characteristics.

All three commissioners will also serve as liaisons to the board.

Recruitment for this new advisory board will begin in the coming weeks.  For more information about this board, visit https://www.larimer.org/boards/equity-diversity-and-inclusion-advisory-board.
