Heather O’Hayre, Human Services Director of Larimer County Department of Human Services, has been appointed to the Early Childhood Leadership Commission (ECLC), Colorado’s federally-authorized early childhood advisory council, by Governor Jared Polis. O’Hayre is one of five people appointed across the state.

The ECLC supports early childhood efforts through its role as a statewide leader in advising policymakers, providing subject matter expertise, and promoting best and promising practices. The ECLC is committed to improving equitable outcomes for people who are pregnant, children aged 8 and under, and their families by advancing programs and services in Colorado so that all children are healthy, valued, and thriving.

“The Early Childhood Leadership Commission has helped advance state early childhood priorities for many years,” Governor Polis said. “I am thrilled that the Commission is leading the work to develop recommendations for a transition plan for the new Department of Early Childhood and to implement access to universal preschool for all children the year before they enter kindergarten. I’m delighted to appoint these new members and look forward to working with them as we make Colorado the best state to raise children.”
