LOVELAND – With Memorial Day weekend just days away, Larimer County Department of Natural Resources (LCDNR) has announced new boating hours for Horsetooth Reservoir and Carter Lake. The new hours go into effect on Friday, May 28.

Carter Lake Ramp Hours:

  • North Pines: 6 a.m.-10 p.m. everyday
  • South Shore: 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. everyday
  • North Ramp (Marina): 6 a.m. -10 p.m. Thursday-Sunday only (Closed Mon*-Wed)
    • *North Ramp will be open Memorial Day (Monday, May 31)

Horsetooth Reservoir Ramp Hours:

  • Inlet Bay:   6 a.m. - 10 p.m. everyday
  • Satanka Cove: 6 a.m. -10 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday only

The South Bay ramp at Horsetooth Reservoir and North Pines ramp at Carter Lake have gate systems that allow boaters to exit those ramps after hours. The gates allow vehicles to exit the areas where the ramps are located but not enter. Trailers must be parked at those ramps before hours end for the day.

Continued assessment and hiring of seasonal staff is actively ongoing with the goal to extend boating hours to full capacity in June.  If you or anyone you know is looking for a fun summer position at Horsetooth Reservoir or Carter Lake, we are encouraging them to apply as an ANS inspector today at http://bit.ly/AwesomeBoatInspector
