All Uninsurance Benefits Claimants will have to verify your ID to continue receiving Unemployment Benefits. 

In order to safeguard the integrity of Colorado’s unemployment program, all claimants who have not yet verified their identity through will need to verify their identity.  All claimants now have the option to complete the identity verification, but the requirement is being phased in over a period of weeks. When you are required to verify your identity using, you will receive an email from CDLE with instructions, as well as an “Identity Verification” issue on the “Issues and Determinations” screen within your MyUI+ account.  If you have not yet received an email from CDLE, or an “Identity Verification” issue within your MyUI+ account, you are not yet required to complete the process, though you will be in the near future. You can go ahead and do it now if you choose, or you can wait until you are required to do so.

How It Works
  • You verify your identity by uploading a photo of your government ID along with a selfie.  Many claimants are able to complete this self-guided process within 15 minutes and it can be completed 24-hours per day, 7 days a week.
  • This step-by-step guide walks you through the complete identity verification process.

Please note that workforce center staff can not assist in the process of identity verification.  Unfortunately, this includes Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development.  

Fraud or Suspected Fraud

  • Identity Verification: Like other states, Colorado continues to see an increase in identity theft and fraudulent unemployment claims. In order to safeguard the integrity of Colorado’s unemployment program, you may be asked to verify your identity using If you have received an email from CDLE directing you to verify with, you will be asked to upload a photo of your government ID along with a selfie. If that method doesn't work, you can verify your identity by speaking with a real person on a video call. The American Rescue Plan Act has been signed into law, extending a number of federal pandemic benefit programs.  While CDLE is still working to evaluate the impact of this legislation on all claimant populations, at this time they anticipate no gap in benefits for most claimants.
