Unemployment Insurance Information: News and Resources
All Uninsurance Benefits Claimants will have to verify your ID to continue receiving Unemployment Benefits.
How It Works
- You verify your identity by uploading a photo of your government ID along with a selfie. Many claimants are able to complete this self-guided process within 15 minutes and it can be completed 24-hours per day, 7 days a week.
- This step-by-step guide walks you through the complete identity verification process.
- If that method doesn’t work, you can speak with a person on a video call. To schedule a video call ID.me appointment please call 303.536.5615.

Please note that workforce center staff can not assist in the process of identity verification. Unfortunately, this includes Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development.
Fraud or Suspected Fraud
-
ID.me Identity Verification: Like other states, Colorado continues to see an increase in identity theft and fraudulent unemployment claims. In order to safeguard the integrity of Colorado’s unemployment program, you may be asked to verify your identity using ID.me. If you have received an email from CDLE directing you to verify with ID.me, you will be asked to upload a photo of your government ID along with a selfie. If that method doesn't work, you can verify your identity by speaking with a real person on a video call. The entire process should take about 15 minutes. Please note LCEWD is unable to verify your identity online or in person. Visit ID.me Identity Verification for additional information, including FAQs.
- If you received unemployment paperwork but did not file a claim, or otherwise believe you are a victim of identity theft related to unemployment benefits, view Information on reporting fraud.
The American Rescue Plan Act has been signed into law, extending a number of federal pandemic benefit programs. While CDLE is still working to evaluate the impact of this legislation on all claimant populations, at this time they anticipate no gap in benefits for most claimants.
