Due to the ongoing wildfire activity and nearby closures, two of Larimer County Department of Natural Resources’ Big Thompson Parks are closed to public access for the winter season, effective immediately.

The seasonal closure includes Forks Park, 1608 West Highway 34, Estes Park and Sleepy Hollow Park, 2131 West Highway 34, Estes Park. Glade Park, 1809 Glade Rd, Loveland, and Narrows Park, 1027 West Highway 34, Loveland, remain open to anglers year-round.

City of Loveland’s seasonal closure of Vienstenz-Smith Mountain Park, located at 1211 W. Hwy. 34, occurred on October 19.

Typically scheduled to close October 1, the Big Thompson Parks have remained open this month to offer additional locations for recreation in Larimer County.  Weather permitting, Forks, Sleepy Hollow, and V-Smith Mountain Park will re-open to the public April 1, 2021.
