On July 22, 2021, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to a death scene at Westerdoll Lake, Loveland, Colorado. The decedent has been identified as Alfredo Cabrera-Carbajal, age 27, of Greeley, Colorado.
On July 20, 2021, Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to a death scene at the location of Cache la Poudre River near mile marker 88 in Bellvue, Colorado. The decedent has been identified as Patricia Brown, age 59 of Madison, Wisconsin.
On July 19, 2021, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to a death scene at 2401 South College Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado. The decedent has been identified as Christopher J. Johnson, age 39, of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Larimer County Declares Formal Local Disaster Emergency to Access Local, State and Federal Resources for the Black Hollow Flood in the Poudre Canyon
The Chair of the Larimer County Board of Commissioners made a declaration of disaster emergency on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, due to the current and anticipated impacts from the dangerous post-fire, flash flooding, debris flows and mudflows in the Cameron Peak Burn Scar. The declaration will be considered for ratification by the full Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
On July 15, 2021, Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to a death scene at the location of Highway 14; Milepost 102.6 Bellvue, Colorado. The decedent has been identified as Jessica A. Fitzpatrick, age 46 of Loveland, Colorado.

On July 16th, 2021, at about 6:30 p.m., inmate Dontre Woods (7/25/2002) refused multiple staff orders to return to his cell to lock down. As deputies attempted to gain control of Woods, he punched one deputy in the face causing injury. Deputies continued efforts to gain control of Woods who actively resisted and threatened to continue to assault jail staff. Two Taser deployments were then necessary to safely gain control of Woods, and as handcuffs were being applied, Woods actively fought against jail staff resulting in an additional deputy sustaining an injury to their leg.
The Larimer County Building Division has made it easier for contractors, homeowners, and other interested stakeholders to participate in updating county building codes.
