New Year’s Day holiday closure

Larimer County Offices, Courts, District Attorney, and Landfill will be closed January 1, 2019 for the New Year’s Holiday.

Critical services at Larimer County are not interrupted by closures.

Larimer County adopts 2019 budget

The Board of Larimer County Commissioners formally approved the 2019 Adopted Budget today. The budget will total $495 million which is a $3.5 million increase over the proposed budget. Larimer County’s net operating budget [excluding capital projects, disaster recovery costs, and non-operational transfers] will be $261 million.

Larimer County Office of C.S.U. Extension receives grant from NextFifty Initiative

The Board of Larimer County Commissioners today approved a grant awarded to the Larimer County office of CSU Extension for $149,500 from NextFifty Initiative to expand Senior Access Points of Larimer County.

County Commissioners to Hold Hearing on Proposed Fee Adjustments on Dec. 18

Natural Resources staff will present the fee adjustments recommended by its Parks and Open Lands citizen advisory boards to the County commissioners, who will take public testimony at the hearing and possibly make final decisions on fees that would go into effect in 2019.

Fort Collins Motor Vehicle Fatalities on November 22, 2018

On November 22, 2018 a motor vehicle accident at E. Harmony Road and E Boardwalk Drive, Fort Collins, Colorado occurred with the fatalities of a father and daughter.

John Nees, age 55, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and his daughter Nicole Nees, age 38 of Fort Collins, Colorado died at the scene.  Autopsies were performed.  Manner of death is Accident and Cause of Death is determined to be Multiple Blunt Force Injuries.  Death for both decedents was immediate.

Larimer County, partners awarded for Fish Creek Road Project Completion

Through collaboration and teamwork, Larimer County Engineering and four other jurisdictions were recognized by the Board of Larimer County Commissioners Nov. 20, 2018 for receiving an award from a professional organization for rebuilding Fish Creek Road in Estes Park, heavily damaged in the 2013 flood.

Deceased person found 7900 Block E US Hwy 34, Johnstown, CO

The deceased person found on November 17, 2018 in the 7900 block of E US Hwy 34, Johnstown, CO has positively been identified as Heather R. Cross, age 44.   Ms. Cross had no permanent address. Next-of-Kin has been notified. 

Manner and Cause of Death - Pending toxicology.  Date of death is unknown at this time.  Foul play is not suspected.

No other information will be released at this time.
