FORT COLLINS: Select trails at Horsetooth Mountain Open Space will be temporarily closed for regular annual maintenance beginning Monday, June 15 through Friday, July 10.  Days and hours of maintenance will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-2 p.m.

The following trails will close intermittently during the upcoming maintenance work: West Ridge, Spring Creek, Audra Culver, Wathen, Stout, Carey Springs, Loggers, Mill Creek, Sawmill, and Nomad.

Horsetooth Rock Trail and Horsetooth Falls Trail will NOT be impacted by this trail closure.

Users are encouraged to check COTREX, the trail update app at www.trails.colorado.gov,  for timely updates. As maintenance progresses, updates about which trails are closed will be made daily (June 15-July 10) at the COTREX app.  Kiosk signage at the main trailhead will be posted along with barricades on the trail will be used to close off access points. Social media will be updated.

Closures allow the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources’ Trails Program staff to work efficiently and effectively while keeping social distance from visitors during the COVID pandemic. Annual maintenance improves both trail sustainability and visitor safety, while protecting natural resource values.
