Larimer County residents came together this week to support their healthcare workers and first responders.

On March 25, 2020, various sites throughout the county collected personal protective equipment (PPE) this past Wednesday to be donated to local medical offices, Long Term Care facilities, fire departments, ems providers, and residential facilities.

Kohl Parrott, a coordinator with the Larimer County Office of Emergency Management, led the event in partnership with local first responders. "I am happy to say that in four days we were able to organize a county-wide PPE drive that reached all corners of Larimer County. Our first responder partners really stepped up and helped conduct this event on such short notice. Donations were accepted at drop-off sites throughout the entire county, including the most rural areas," said Parrott. "In a time when there is so much fear and anxiety, watching the community rally around the first responders and medical providers and relinquish their supply of PPE to those who need it most, is extremely moving."

Among the collected supplies were hundreds of boxes of gloves, hundreds of N-95 masks and shoe covers, coveralls, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, gowns, eye protection, gallons of bleach and much more.
