Humphrey to head Criminal Justice Services
Second Assistant District Attorney in the 8th Judicial District Emily Humphrey has been appointed by the Board of Larimer County Commissioners to the position of Larimer County Director of Criminal Justice Services.
Humphrey will replace long-time Director of Criminal Justice Services Gary Darling, who retires in May.
Her professional career spans 22 years in criminal justice with the last 18 years of service in the 8th Judicial District which includes Larimer and Jackson County.
Humphrey will lead Criminal Justice Services which include Larimer County Community Corrections, Larimer County Alternative Sentencing, and the numerous programs within these two departments that help reduce recidivism, reduce the jail population and reintegrate offenders into the local community.
Humphrey currently serves on a number of organizations and advisory boards, including the Crime Services Advisory Board Co-Chair, Colorado Department of Criminal Justice [DCJ]; the Victim’s Rights Act Subcommittee Chair, [DCJ]; and the Larimer County Juvenile Gun Safety Coalition.
She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law, Dayton, Ohio. Humphrey starts work on March 5th.
