Body of Missing Man Recovered in Poudre River
On July 23, 2019, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a kayaker discovered a body in the Poudre River near mile marker 112 on Highway 14. LCSO Emergency Services, deputies, investigators, Larimer County Dive Rescue Team, USFS, UCHealth, and the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded.
The body was recovered just after 5:00 p.m. and turned over to the Larimer County Coroner’s Office. Today, the coroner identified the man as David L. Smith of Fort Collins who was last seen on June 29, 2019 when he fell from a raft into the river.
