The 8th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team investigation into the officer-involved shooting on October 8, 2018 continues and the Loveland Police Department is leading the investigation. 

Per the investigative protocol, it is the responsibility of the agency involved to release the name of the officer involved. The deputy who fired his weapon on Monday is Deputy Matthew Bordewick. Deputy Bordewick is 28 years old and has served with LCSO since January 4, 2018.  Prior to joining LCSO, Deputy Bordewick served with the Monte Vista Police Department in Monte Vista, Colorado from December 2013 to December 2017, leaving at the rank of corporal.  

He has been placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with agency policy.

No further information will be released by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
