On May 28, 2018, Fort Collins Police Services and the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force began an investigation into the apparent overdose death of 22-year-old Trenton Graves of Fort Collins.  On June 8, Fort Collins Police Services arrested Pearce Christian Bremerkamp (08/07/1990) of Fort Collins for Manslaughter (Class 4 Felony).  Allegations against Bremerkamp include that he sold illicit narcotics to Graves.

During the course of the investigation, the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force has discovered it is possible there are illicit narcotics mixed with carfentanil being sold in Northern Colorado.  Carfentanil is a synthetic opioid derived from fentanyl.  A unit of carfentanil is 100 times as potent as the same amount of fentanyl, 5,000 times as potent as a unit of heroin, and 10,000 times as potent as a unit of morphine.

This investigation is ongoing and no additional information will be released at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the sale of illegal narcotics is asked to call the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force tip line at 970-416-2560.
