Larimer County Offices, Courts, and District Attorney will be closed February 18, 2019 for the Presidents' Day holiday. The Landfill will be open. Critical services at Larimer County are not disrupted by closures.

Colorado is blessed with beautiful wildflowers and native landscaping. The Larimer County Native Plant Master Program through Colorado State University Extension is accepting applications for the 2018 course. Applications are due by March 23, 2018.

The Native Plant Master Program [NPM] offers 12 hours of field instruction in plant identification, native plants in sustainable landscapes, and noxious weed impacts. Class times, fees and locations are included in the application.

Previous NPM participants have used the knowledge gained to create sustainable landscapes that use less water, fertilizer, pesticides and maintenance. Valuable invasive weed instruction has helped class members understand, identify and control invasive weeds.

One NPM participant said, “The knowledge has been extremely useful in my contact with the community in leading tours in natural areas. People are very interested in controlling and understanding alien plants in the area.”

Courses will be held at Red Mountain Open Space, Reservoir Ridge Natural Area, Bobcat Ridge Natural Area, and Lory State Park. For more information and to obtain an application, visit the CSU Larimer County Extension web page at or contact the Extension office at [970] 498-6000.
