WM, Inc. who is currently under contract to operate the Larimer County Recycling Center recently contacted the County concerning the collapsing prices and end market for specific grade plastics #3, #6 and #7. These types of plastics are commonly thin and flimsy and are used to manufacture take-out cups and “clamshell” deli boxes. These plastic containers are typically numbered with the appropriate recycling symbol on the bottom of each container.

May is Older Americans Month, and three individuals who enrich the quality of life for older Americans were recognized on May 10, 2018, at the Senior Volunteer Awards hosted by the Larimer County Office on Aging.  

On May 9,2018 there was a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Prospect and Carriage Roads in Fort Collins with one fatality. The Larimer County Coroner's Office responded to Medical Center of the Rockies where the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles was transported and later died.

The decedent has been identified as Andres Martinez, age 20 of Fort Collins, Colorado.

Cause of death is Multiple Blunt Force Injuries and the Manner of death is Accident.

Area resource managers will be tightening requirements for launching trailered watercraft at Horsetooth Reservoir and Carter Lake boat ramps in the weeks to come.

Two locally-created sculptures that exemplify the history and are a symbol of Loveland will greet visitors at the entrance to the new Larimer County Loveland building.
