The Senior Tax Work-Off Program assists eligible older adults in paying off a portion of their Larimer County property tax bills by providing up to $400 in grant money for the 2021 calendar year. To remain compliant with guidance from the Larimer County Health Department, and to keep everyone safe and healthy during the Covid-19 pandemic, recipients will NOT be required to work off their grant money as they have in previous years.

To qualify, applicant(s) must be:

  • 60 years of age or older
  • have a gross household monthly income at or below $2,151.00 (for 1 person) or $2,911.00 (for 2 people)
  • own property in Larimer County
  • reside on that property.

A maximum of $400 may be granted upon approval to be used toward Larimer County property taxes only. Recipients will receive a check made payable to them and the Larimer County Treasurer, which may not be cashed or deposited directly into their bank account. Instead, checks may be included with the recipient's next property tax payment or submitted to the Treasurer (located at 200 W. Oak St, Suite 2100, Fort Collins, CO 80521; mailing address P.O. Box 1250, Fort Collins, CO 80522), who will issue a new check in the recipient's name only if their property taxes are paid in full. Instructions will be included with all checks upon delivery.
