About Us

The Long Term Care Ombudsman Program works to protect the rights of residents of assisted living residences and nursing facilities.  The program encourages individuals to resolve issues at the lowest level possible. If you are uncomfortable doing this or are unable to resolve an issue, you can contact the licensing and regulatory agency for long term care facilities in Colorado - Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.  Any concerned party can contact the ombudsman with concerns.

Long Term Care Ombudsman office services include:

  • Respond to concerns regarding a long-term care facility reported by a resident or their family
  • Provide notification, advice or consultation for long-term care staff
  • Respond to inquiries from people considering long-term care placement
  • The Long Term Care Ombudsman can provide information and sometimes training on long-term care facilities, services, federal and state regulations and residents’ rights.
