Larimer County Human Services COVID-19 Updates
  • May's Emergency Assistance Max Allotments will start being issued on Sunday, May 9th.  Please note that it could take up to 10 days for Food Assistance cases to be run and the emergency allotment of SNAP benefits to be added to the client's EBT card..

  • We are currently experiencing higher demand and call volume for public benefits. Our phone hours of operation for Monday, Tuesday, and Friday will continue to be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. In order to focus on processing each application, we will be taking Thursdays to work through the applications and questions that are in the queue.
  • Applications for assistance can be found in PEAK, our online benefits system. Click here to apply or to check on the status of your benefits application.
  • 2555 Midpoint or the HUB is currently closed to walk-in traffic. Please call 970-498-6990 if you need assistance with child protection, juvenile justice, or foster or kinship care.

About Us

The Department of Human Services assists individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency and security through public assistance programs, services or referrals to community agencies that help provide:

  • Assistance in obtaining food
  • Coverage for medical costs
  • Temporary cash assistance for familiesHS infographic
  • Protection for vulnerable adults and children
  • A process for obtaining child support
  • Care options for people with disabling conditions and limited finances
  • Referrals to community agencies that can help people in need of assistance
  • We have locations in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Estes Park.  Please call to be sure you travel to the correct office for your needs.


  • In order to serve you better, our call center will be closed on Thursdays beginning January 7. We will continue to have hours on Saturdays (8:30 a.m. - Noon) and extended hours on Wednesdays (8 a.m. - 7 p.m.). Clients can apply for benefits or check the status of their application through PEAK online
  • Colorado SNAP recipients can now use EBT cards online at Safeway and Albertsons. Click here to read more about where EBT cards can be used.
  • The Double Up Food Bucks program doubles the value of federal nutrition benefits  spent at participating markets and food retail stores, helping people bring home more healthy fruits and vegetables while supporting local farmers. Learn more by clicking here.
