About Medicaid

Health First Colorado (Medicaid) is public health insurance for low-income Coloradans who qualify. Health First Colorado (Medicaid) is funded jointly by a federal-state partnership and is administered by the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing.

Health First Colorado (Medicaid) does not have deductibles. Pregnant women and children under the age of 19 do not have co-payments. Adults 19 and older have to make small co-payments for services.

About CHP+

Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) is public low-cost health insurance for certain children and pregnant women. It is for people who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to pay for private health insurance.

CHP+ does not have deductibles. There is a $25 or $75 (depending on your income) membership fee per year for one person and a $35 or $105 (depending on your income) for two or more persons. Depending upon your income, you may have $2, $5 or $10 co-payments for services such as doctor's visits and prescriptions.
