Personal Gatherings

  • Effective Saturday, 2/6, at 9:00am: Public and private gatherings are limited to no more than 10 individuals from no more than 2 households.
  • Individuals at risk of Severe Illness from COVID-19 are strongly advised to remain at home as much as possible.

Indoor and Outdoor Events

This guidance does not apply to sporting events in Larimer County. 

Indoor Events means indoor activities like receptions, events, concerts, indoor markets, non-critical auctions, theaters, trade shows, or other indoor venues. 

Effective Saturday, 2/6, at 9:00am: Capacity for Indoor events is:

  • Unseated events: 50%, up to 50, whichever is less, per room. For large facilities, (>7200 square feet) capacity can be up to 150 people using the Distancing Space Calculator(Updated 2/16)
  • Seated events: 50% capacity or up to 150 people with 6 feet of distancing between parties. (Updated 2/12)

Indoor Event capacities do not include staff or performers. 

Outdoor Events means outdoor activities such as outdoor receptions, events, fairs, rodeos, non-critical auctions, concerts, outdoor markets, or other outdoor venues.

Effective Monday, 2/6, at 9:00pm:

Capacity for Outdoor events is:

  • Unseated events: 50% capacity or up to 175 people within the usable space calculated using the Distancing Space Calculator, excluding staff, per designated activity or area.
  • Seated events: 50% capacity or up to 175 people with 6 feet distancing between non-household contacts.

Individual hosts for events must submit their event plans to the Larimer County Health Department for approval, using this form. A site map on the space and controls that will be implemented to maintain 6 feet distancing requirements should be included.

Precautions for attending gatherings of any size

If you are planning to attend any social gathering of any size, take precautions to lower the chances of getting sick yourself or spreading respiratory illness to others.

  • Stay home if you are not feeling well
  • Avoid others who are sick
  • Cover your cough and sneeze with a sleeved arm or a tissue
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol is also effective against COVID-19
  • Wear a cloth face covering to the greatest extent possible
Level of Risk Description
Highest Large in-person gatherings where it is difficult for individuals to remain spaced at least 6 feet apart and attendees travel from outside the local area.
Higher Medium-sized in-person gatherings that are adapted to allow individuals to remain spaced at least 6 feet apart and with attendees coming from outside the local area.
More Smaller outdoor and in-person gatherings in which individuals from different households remain spaced at least 6 feet apart, wear cloth face coverings, do not share objects, and come from the same local area (e.g., community, town, city, or county).
