Jacob has called Fort Collins home since 1997 when he began his studies at Colorado State University. While at CSU, he earned three undergraduate degrees (Agricultural Business, Foreign Language and Literature, and Economics), and a double masters in the Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise Program (M.S.B.A.) and Agricultural and Resource Economics- all from CSU. While attending graduate school, Jacob launched his first company called PowerMundo, which was called one of six ideas that will change world, according to CNN/Money. Since then, he has launched Panda Bicycles, a leading edge bamboo bicycle designer and manufacturer headquartered in Fort Collins. Jacob’s economic development work began at the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corporation and it continues as Economic Development Manager at the Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development. Additionally, he serves on the Boards of Directors for the Sustainable Living Association and the Rocky Mountain Innosphere, and he teaches a course on Global Sustainability at CSU.

Adam joined the Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development in 2004 and has supported the invention and re-invention of a variety of services including Colorado Youth Wins, internships, wage reimbursement (OJT), incumbent worker training and other services offered by Larimer County workforce Center’s Business Development Team. A Loveland native, Adam has a MEd from Colorado State University and has worked in career counseling, K-12 education, food service, hospitality, and facilities management throughout Larimer County. As Business Development Manager, he builds relationships with local business leaders in order to collaborate and offer solutions to workforce needs. He understands what makes Northern Colorado special, and works every day to support it!


Mike KohlerMike Kohler

Business Training Coordinator

Mike has been a business owner, business coach and corporate communication strategist for more than 30 years. In his role with the Economic and Workforce Development, Mike is responsible for providing area businesses with professional development workshops and business leader roundtables. Mike teaches brand communication and entrepreneurship in a master’s degree program at West Virginia University. He earned his MBA and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He also serves as a CSU Entrepreneurship Institute advisor. The Nebraska native co-authored The Educated Franchisee, a guide for prospective business owners. He has held leadership roles with many nonprofit, government and Chamber boards of directors and has served as a Planning Commissioner. Mike and Deborah Kohler have co-owned their professional services consulting firm since 2004 and are passionate about supporting and strengthening small and medium-sized businesses.

Regional Veterans Reprensentative

As a member of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) team, Shelly is excited to work with the Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development promoting capacity building with focus on veteran employment. He works closely with workforce team members, workforce investment boards, local elected officials, employers and veterans in Colorado promoting the advantages of hiring qualified veteran job candidates. Prior to joining CDLE, Shelly spent many years in the private sector where he worked closely with businesses in developing partnerships that improved their bottom line and enhanced the opportunities for the communities served.

A Cheyenne native with a passion for travel, Jackie perfected her resourcefulness and customer service skills while working in the airline industry. She learned recruiting business while working as an on-site staffing coordinator and recruiter at a local hi-tech company. She has been with the Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development for over 10 years and provides business with a wide variety of services including hiring event coordination, recruiting, layoffs and transitions services, and more. Jackie also represents Larimer County in the WY-CO Regional Workforce Partnership, ensuring that relationships and shared resources throughout Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming are optimized for business.
