Night Sky Photography

Saturday, March 17, 2018 - 7:00pm to 9:30pm

Join Larimer County naturalists at Devil's Backbone Open Space, located just west of Loveland off of Hwy 34, to learn how to take beautiful night sky pictures. This program will teach you about astrophotography, including camera set up, focusing, and a bit about composition and post processing. Bring a camera with manual focus, lenses, tripod and a red lens flashlight if you have them. Program is free, but registration is required. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Directions: 

From Loveland:

  • Take Highway 34 west of Loveland to just past mile marker #88 (2 miles west of the K-Mart). Turn right (north) onto Hidden Valley Drive just east of the old water tank. The trailhead is on your left.

From Denver:

  • Take 1-25 north to Exit 257B (Highway 34 - Loveland). Drive west through Loveland and follow directions from above.

From Fort Collins:

  • Take Taft Hill Road south from Fort Collins to U.S. Highway 34 (Eisenhower) and turn right (west). Proceed west on U.S. Highway 34 and follow directions from Loveland above.
