Geology of Red Mountain Open Space

Explore the beauty of Red Mountain Open Space, located north of Fort Collins, as you learn about the geology of the area with Larimer County naturalists. See the unique geological formations that have been eroded by Sand Creek, and walk on the area's massive gypsum beds. Approximately 2.6-mile hike. Please dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared for possible flowing creek crossings. Your feet may get wet. Bring some sunscreen, water and lunch for eating on the trail.
Program is free, but registration is required.
