In early 2021, Larimer County received federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding for Emergency Rent Assistance.

The $10,740,000 distribution is helping qualified Larimer County residents with rent and utility assistance. 


  • Qualifies for unemployment or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19;
  • Demonstrates a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and
  • Has a household income at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI)


Larimer County is working closely with Neighbor to Neighbor to review applications and distribute the funds. COVID 19 affected thousands of Larimer County households; these federal funds are making a difference by providing critical past due rent and utility payments for vulnerable residents.
