Youth Preparedness Training
Larimer OEM supports various types of youth preparedness training including classroom trainings, support to the MyPI Program and Scouts badge/patch training.
Classroom Trainings
Larimer OEM is happy to conduct preparedness training to your classroom. Additionally, we are happy to support problem-based learning curriculums as well. Examples of presentations we have done in this area include:
- Disaster preparedness education
- Education on mitigation and how communities can reduce risk
- Floodplain management and project evaluations
If you are interested in having Larimer Emergency Management provide a presentation to your classroom or provide support to your curriculum, please contact either Shayle Sabo at sabosn@co.larimer.co.us or Lori Hodges at hodgeslr@co.larimer.co.us
MyPI Program
Larimer OEM supported the MyPI (My Preparedness Initiative) program as an instructor offered through the Larimer County-CSU Extension.

Scouts Emergency Preparedness Training
Larimer OEM works in partnership with City of Fort Collins Office of Emergency Preparedness and Security to conduct the basic Emergency Preparedness Training required for Boy and Girl Scouts to achieve their merit badge or patch. We try to conduct this training at least once per quarter during the calendar year, so please refer to this page often for training dates. The training is conducted at the Fort Collins Emergency Operations Center and space is limited, so training will be reserved for first come first serve.
For any questions regarding this training please contact Shayle Sabo at sabosn@co.larimer.co.us or Chris Wolf at cwolf@poudre-fire.org
2020 Schedule
The first training will be offered to Scouts at the Scout University in January. Please refer back to this page for additional dates soon.
