John was elected by a county-wide vote in 2018 and 2022 as Larimer County Commissioner representing District 1, the northern section of the County.  This area encompasses Fort Collins (north of Drake Road), where he lives, LaPorte, Wellington, Waverly, Red Feather Lakes, Livermore, Buckeye and surrounding areas.  He first took office as a Larimer County Commissioner on January 8, 2019.  He was sworn in for his second term on January 10, 2023.

  • Making it easier for disabled veterans to qualify for property tax exemptions

  • Reducing obstacles to disaster relief and rebuilding after the 2013 flood
