An update on developments in the Larimer County Water Master Plan Project within the last year will be presented at a public open house by Larimer County Community Development in May.

Larimer County received a 1041 permit application on December 4, 2023  from the City of Thornton to construct a water pipeline through Larimer County. The pipeline will also go through Weld and Adams County to transport water owned by the City of Thornton to that community.

1041 Regulations

1041 Regulations are delegated powers from the State of Colorado to local jurisdictions to regulate matters of statewide concern, including the development of transportation and utility infrastructure. 1041 Regulations can also be used to protect specific geographic areas with historical, cultural, or natural resources of statewide importance.
