This document provides a general overview of candidate qualifications and ballot access and should be used as a reference guide only.  Always refer to the Colorado Constitution and Colorado Revised Statutes (C.R.S) for applicable laws.  

Candidate Petition Information

A candidate petition must be submitted to the Larimer County Clerk & Recorder's Office and approved prior to circulation of the petition. File your petition formatted as a proto type of the petition exactly as it will be circulated.  Visit the Colorado Secretary of State's website for sample candidate petitions.

Campaign Finance

Effective January 1, 2010, all reports previously filed with the county clerk and recorder will be filed with the Colorado Department of State.

Per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Larimer County will provide a reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with a disability who need assistance.  Services can be arranged with at least seven business days’ notice.  Please email us at elections@co.larimer.co.us or by calling 970/498-7820 or Relay Colorado 711. "Walk-in" requests for auxiliary aids and services will be honored to the extent possible but may be unavailable if advance notice is not provided.
