About the New Facility

The new Larimer County Behavioral Health Crisis Services Facility will provide licensed, equitable, and culturally relevant care and treatment to individuals in crisis with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Services within the facility will be provided by SummitStone Health Partners, the contracted service provider.

A comprehensive care team will be available 24/7 to accept, assess and assure care for all individuals who arrive at the facility. An intake team will be available for a seamless transfer of care for those in crisis from family, law enforcement officers, and other first responders. A highly-trained care team will provide the appropriate level of care for the appropriate amount of time and coordinate a care plan before being discharged.

  • Behavioral Health Urgent Care: Available 24/7
  • Comprehensive Care Coordination
  • Two Levels of Withdrawal Management 
    • Social: Closely monitored and managed by medical and behavioral health staff 
    • Medically-Monitored: Used to help manage more acute symptoms of withdrawal under the care of medical professionals who specialize in addiction treatment
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) - A short-term residential program that provides intensive supervision to individuals who demonstrate a moderate to severe acute psychiatric or co-occurring crisis.
  • Short-term intensive residential treatment (IRT) - A short-term residential program for clients focused on recovery after detox.
  • “Bridge Clinic” for transitional care 
  • On-site pharmacy and lab services

Who will it serve?
This facility will serve anyone residing in Larimer County in need of urgent intervention for mental health or substance use regardless of race, color, ethnic or national origin, ancestry, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, creed, political beliefs, or disability.

Construction: Anticipated Traffic Impact Schedule* for 2022-2023

  • 3/7/22:  Start Forced Sewer Main along Taft Hill Road – Minimal traffic impact 
  • 3/21/22 to 4/8/22: Weekend closure of Taft Hill Road to install the water line 
  • Late 2022 – Early 2023: Traffic Light to be installed by City of Fort Collins. Actual dates pending finalized schedule.
