An office charge of $20.00 will be charged. All group/ hitch/teams will be issued one number. ONLY ONE ENTRY PER OWNER PER CLASS.

Entries are due and must be postmarked prior to December 4th, 2007.

PLEASE READ ALL RULES CAREFULLY BEFORE MAKING ENTRIES:

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  1. STATEMENT OF LIABILITY: All exhibitors in the Big Thunder Draft Horse Hitch Show will be under the control and direction of the show management, however the Big Thunder Draft Horse Hitch Show will in no case be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to horses exhibited, or for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost, stolen, destroyed or in any way injured. Every individual, either personally or through their partner, or guardian, who participates in the Big Thunder Draft Horse Hitch Show, to any extent whatsoever, does thereby consent, for all purposes, that venue and jurisdiction shall lie in Larimer County, Colorado. Each exhibitor will be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury or damage done to or occasioned by, or arising from any animal or article owned or exhibited by him or her, and shall indemnify the Big Thunder Draft Horse Hitch Show against all legal or other proceedings, claims, or demands of any kind or nature, in regard thereto, or that may arise from the negligence of the person in charge or any such animal or article.
  2. UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT: Unsportsmanlike conduct by any exhibitor, trainer, or owner will not be tolerated and any violator will be excused from the arena. Inhumane treatment of the animal in the show arena, warm-up area, stall, runway, or anywhere on the grounds of The Ranch and Larimer County Fairgrounds and Events Complex, or cruelty to or abuse of an animal by any person, is forbidden and renders the offender subject to penalty. The Show Management may bar violators from further participation for the remainder of the Show.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Out of State Origin
    1. A Health Certificate is required and must be turned into the Stalling Office at time of arrival and must be dated no more than 30 days from time of arrival. Horses entering a show will be subject to examination by the State Veterinarian's office upon entry or during said show. Any animal found showing evidence of infectious, contagious, or communicable diseases may be immediately withdrawn from the show and held in quarantine at owner's risk and expense until properly treated and recovered, or until properly released in order to return to owner's premises following treatment.
    2. Negative test for Equine Infectious Anemia (AGID or Elisa) required and must be turned into Stalling Office at time of stall assignment and must be dated no more than one (1) year prior to date of arrival.
  2. Colorado Origin
    1. Health Certificate is required and must be turned into Stalling Office at time of arrival and must be dated no more than 30 days prior to date of arrival. Horses entering a show will be subject to examination by the State Veterinarian's office upon entry or during said show. Any animal found showing evidence of infectious, contagious, or communicable diseases may be immediately withdrawn from the show and held in quarantine at owner's risk and expense until properly treated and recovered, or until properly released in order to return to owner's premises following treatment.
    2. No test required for Equine Infectious Anemia (AGID or Elisa)

BRAND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. COLORADO EXHIBITORS: All Colorado Exhibitors must have a brand inspection certificate ONLY ON PURCHASED HORSES. If exhibiting animals of your own raising, proof of title is any of the following:
    1. Colorado recorded brand on the animal(s)
    2. Registration papers
    3. Notarized affidavit stating that the animal(s) being exhibited are of your raising
    4. A current Colorado brand inspection certificate
  2. OUT OF STATE EXHIBITORS:
    1. All livestock coming from mandatory brand inspection states must have a current brand inspection certificate. The original copy of the inspection certificate must be turned in with the health certificate to the stalling office. All animals found to be improperly shipped will be held until released by the state of origin.
    2. All out of state exhibitors coming into Colorado for the Big Thunder Draft Horse Hitch Show from NON-MANDATORY INSPECTION STATES MUST HAVE PROOF OF TITLE ACCOMPANYING the animal(s) to and from the Show whether for exhibition or sale.

Legal proof of title would be any of the following:

  1. Registration papers
  2. Legal bill of sale properly witnessed. The requirement of a legal bill of sale are: Sellers name, Buyers name, complete description of animal(s) being purchased (the complete description should include the number of head, color, sex, breed markings, registration numbers and hot brands), signature of seller, signature of buyer and notarized affidavit stating that the animal(s) are being sold.

STALL RULES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stall requests will not be accepted without an entry and proper fees. Every horse is required to stall. Stalls will be assigned. Horses must be placed in assigned stalls and no change will be permitted without prior consent.
  • Request for adjoining stalls from different owners must be requested on each owner's entry form.
  • Arrival and Departure dates and times must be stated on your stalling form, early arrival will be available as early as January 7, 2008.
  • ALL HORSES MUST ARRIVE AND DEPART WITHIN January 7th-23rd, 2008. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
  • All stalls are 10' x 10' box stalls with hinged doors and solid rubber matting.
  • All horses will be under the supervision and care of their owners. Horse exhibitors are required to keep their stall and the aisles clean and neat.
  • All exhibitors will be required to dump manure in designated area to help in quick removal.
  • Feed and bedding will be available on grounds through the Ranchway Feed Concessionaire. Exhibitors may bring their own hay, grain and bedding if desired.
  • If purchasing shavings through The Ranch all shavings must be pre-ordered on stall form, and will be pre-bedded in assigned stalls.
  • DOGS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED on grounds, nor in the buildings at any time.
  • Management requests that stall area be decorated however, stall decorations must not block any aisle ways, blocking or partial blocking of aisles is prohibited.
