Draft Horse Show - Purse
Purse Qualifying Rules:
To qualify for the $2000.00 purse/ travel money: Six out of Eight following classes, including the six horse hitch, must be entered and competed in:
- Men's Cart Unicorn
- Ladies Cart Four
- Men's Team Six
- Ladies Team
- Tandem
If you qualify for Ladies Cart Championship you must hitch for the class to receive the full travel money.
You must be in the ring for 6 of the above classes for the full $2000.00.
If you scratch a class with a vet out, you will only receive $1000.00, provided you complete 5 of the eligible 8 classes.
We encourage you to enter all eight classes.
There will be a limit of 15 hitches that can qualify for the $2,000.00 guaranteed travel money, due to the availability of stalls.
Participants not qualified for the $2,000.00 purse/ travel money: All exhibitors entered are guaranteed a participation fee based on completion of classes.
Guaranteed Purse Classes:
Classic Six Championship class- $2500.00
Ladies Cart Championship class- $500.00
Eight horse hitch class- $1000.00
Farm Team Race:
Prize money will also go to for first through 6th place in the
championship races.
Farm Team Race:
- Open to Draft Horse Teams and Draft Mule Teams.
- One Entry per team w/designated driver and handler.
- Course must be negotiated at walk or trot. Penalty for gallop.
- Course and Final Rules Determined by show committee to be handed out at show.
- Fastest times from morning will be asked to stay for afternoon performance for championship race.
- Prize money will also go to for first through 6th place in the championship races.
Farm Team Tandem Barrel Race:
- Each Team may enter once. Each driver may enter once.
- Barrel Race course and drive pattern apply.
- Two teams will negotiate the pattern simultaneously, at a walk to trot. NO GALLOPING.
- Final rules and course description determined by show committee to be handed out at show.
- All entry fees added to purse. Prize money distribution: 1st– 30%, 2nd– 22%, 3rd– 18%, 4th– 12%, 5th– 10%, 6th-8%
