Description:
Colorado State University is beginning a five-year study of the deer population in the Laramie Foothills and seeks to conduct part of the research in Red Mountain Open Space. The study, sponsored by the United States National Science Foundation, will improve our basic, scientific understanding dynamics of deer populations infected with Chronic Wasting Disease.
We will work with the County to assure that all special event requirements are met. Our project has prepared a set of detailed documents describing our work including a Project Proposal, Operations Plan for 2009-2010, Animal Care and Use Protocols, and Requirements for Helicopter Netgunning. These documents are available for review by Larimer County Natural Resources Staff. Here, we present an overview of our work in the attached .rtf file. Our project team stands ready to meet to answer questions about our proposed work.
